Australia

Australia is a landmass that equals the size of the US. Think about traveling from Miami to New York and you have an idea of the distance between Sydney and Cairns, one of the most famous jumping-off points for the Great Barrier Reef. Melbourne is known as the cultural capital of Australia and there’s a tremendous rivalry between the residents of Sydney and Melbourne. Melbourne is different. They play Australian Rules Football here and not too much rugby, and it’s the home of the Australian Open Tennis Tournament. Outside of Melbourne is the lovely Yarra Valley wine area, as well as the Great Ocean Road, one of the most dramatic ocean roads in the world. Just off the coast of Adelaide lies Kangaroo Island. Kangaroos aren’t the only animals you’ll see in the wild here. Wallabies, koala, bush-tailed possums and penguins are among the many animals you can see, while enjoying lovely lodges, fresh seafood and, of course, wine. Perth has been compared to San Diego and you’ll notice the similarity yourself when you arrive….bright blue skies and plenty of sunshine abound. Tasmania, one of the largest islands in the world, is a world apart from the rest of Australia. Here the terrain is more like New Zealand…green rolling hills and quiet towns. And don’t miss the fascinating convict settlements. And, of course, Uluru, the iconic monolith in the Red Centre of the continent. Come experience Australia – a different light!

Cook Islands Cook Islands

The Cook Islands are largely untouched by tourism. There are no high-rise hotels, no construction higher than a coconut tree, only one main road to follow around each island, a supremely relaxed pace and great value for money. Rarotonga, the main island and capital, is encircled by white sandy beaches and turquoise lagoons. Aitutaki, a short flight away, has one of the most beautiful lagoons in the world, fringed by tiny islets. A favorite stop for whalers in the 1850’s, the British flag was raised in 1888, at which time Aitutaki and Rarotonga were included in the boundaries of New Zealand. Today, the local currency is still New Zealand Dollars and Cook Islanders are free to travel to and from New Zealand as they wish. There are no chain restaurants and no traffic lights. Come to experience untouched paradise for yourself, but be sure to give yourself enough time. It takes 2 or 3 days to get to “island time”

Off the coast of Belize, you’ll find the second largest barrier reef in the world (only Australia’s is larger).
